It’s That Time Of The Year…Again

(I know it’s a bit late for a Christmas-themed story but I only recently found out about this amazing site and really wanted to share it with the community.)

“It’s that time of the year,” sighs Rabbit.

“Again,” adds Skunk.

It’s that time of the year indeed! It has become a perfectly normal thing for the forest animals to, not so eagerly, await the winter season. Can you guess why?

Well, for no other reason but to save Santa Claus!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen! Santa requires rescuing every single time he embarks on the journey to bring gifts to children all around the globe. Some think he’s too clumsy for the job, while others believe he is not to be blamed since gift-giving is a very unpredictable and dangerous thing to do.

Whatever the truth might be, one thing’s for sure; the forest critters better buckle up because neither will this year come to an end without a stressful adventure!

Thanks to the many birds that inhabit the place, finding out Santa’s current location is never a big deal.

Once, Rudolph The Reindeer got stuck neck-deep in ice.

“Mama Bear could pull him out,” suggested Squirrel.

“She’s asleep and won’t wake up until spring arrives,” said Raccoon. “We should ask the wolves to help.”

Everyone agreed and soon they were all gathered around Rudolph, silently watching as two wolves were slowly moving towards him.

“No! Shoo! Shoo!” screamed Owl, with a frantic clapping of wings, and appeared in front of the wolves as fast as light.

They started to growl at him but as soon as he revealed his sharp claws, the wolves knew it better, turned around angrily, and left. Turns out, a stuck reindeer would have made a fine dinner…

Last year, Santa got stuck in a chimney. It took a dozen animals to push him out. Rumour has it that nowadays he is a regular gym-goer.

So, as you can see, the critters of the forest have an extremely important mission every winter. They already started gathering in their usual spot, waiting for news from the birds.

“What will happen this year?” wonders Rabbit, while nervously glancing towards the arriving Fox family.

Thank you for reading!
